Accessibility

We want everyone to be able to find and win government work with us, including people who use a screen reader, a keyboard, magnification or captions.

Our standard

We build this website to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. That is the level U.S. courts and the Department of Justice look to under the Americans with Disabilities Act, and the level the European standard EN 301 549 requires under the European Accessibility Act.

What we checked

  • Every page was tested with the axe-core automated checker against WCAG 2.2 A and AA, at desktop and phone sizes, including the AI matching results, the fee builder and its pop-ups.
  • We also checked by hand: using the whole site with only a keyboard, visible focus, pop-ups that keep and return focus, pages at 320 pixels wide and at 200% zoom, wider text spacing, reduced motion, touch target sizes, captions and page structure.

What you can expect

  • Every feature works with a keyboard, and a Skip to content link starts each page.
  • The moving bid ticker has a pause button, stops when you hover or focus it, and stands still if your device asks for reduced motion.
  • Videos have captions and a written transcript; the narrated guide also reads as a plain page.
  • Forms have labels, say what went wrong in words, and fill in your name and email from your browser.

Known limits

  • Bid notices and documents open on SAM.gov and Cal eProcure, which we don't run; some agency PDFs may not be accessible. Tell us and we'll read the document and send you the key terms in a format that works for you.
  • Our account and alert pages are simpler pages run on a separate system; we test them to the same standard.

Tell us about a problem

If anything on this site is hard to use, email us and say which page and what happened. We'll help you by email or phone in the meantime and fix the page.
